Shopify Ecommerce Platform has introduced Sidekick, a chatbot that uses artificial intelligence. It helps shops redesign their e-commerce websites and analyze sales data.
Sidekick is one of the new features Shopify offers. Soon, businesses using Shopify’s cloud platform can use corporate credit cards. Also, there’s a new AI-powered email marketing tool being added.
You can access Sidekick through Shopify Magic’s machine learning package. This package uses the GPT-4 model from OpenAI LP.
Shopify Magic was first launched this year and was mainly for automating the work of creating e-commerce product listings. Now, it’s expanding to automate other tasks.
The chatbot’s first job is helping shops create their websites, as the company says. Workers can ask Sidekick to change how a product is shown or add a new section to their online store, just by using normal words. Also, the chatbot can create marketing content for the sections it makes on the website.

Shopify says that Sidekick can also work as an analytics tool. It means users can ask questions about how their online business is doing and get answers in regular words. For example, a worker can ask why there were suddenly more purchases or ask for a summary of last week’s sales.
Sidekick and other features are ready to use on Shopify’s ecommerce platform. They also have a new feature called Shopify Credit, which lets shops give corporate credit cards to their workers.
Plus, they are introducing an AI tool that can write marketing emails on its own and figure out the best times to send them. A pair of additions aimed at assisting retailers in managing their product catalogs round out today’s update.
Shopify Connect enables an online merchant to make products from other Shopify businesses available on their website. In addition, businesses are receiving connectors that will make listing their items on major e-commerce platforms easier.

Today’s update includes two new things to help retailers with their product catalogs. The first one is called Shopify Connect, which lets online shops add products from other Shopify businesses to their own website. And there’s more! Businesses will also get connectors to make it easier to list products on big e-commerce platforms.
