In this tutorial, I will show you How to setup your Magento on a new domain.
This is very simple by following two steps.
Lets start.
Step 1: In this step you need to change your “Secure” and “Unsecure” URL of your Magento.
-
Go to your ‘‘phpMyAdmin”.
-
From the left, select your Magento database.
-
Find a table named as “core_config_data” and click on it.
-
The right panel opens up. From the “Browse” tab, find two URL’s config path
- web/unsecure/base_url
- web/secure/base_url
Edit their two URL’s with your new domain name. Click on “Edit” icon and enter your new domain name.
For Example: Suppose you want to change “olddomainname” to “newdomainname”, then enter http://www.newdomainname.com/
Note: Make sure to add “https” to your secure base_url.
Step 2: Now flush your Magento cache.
Find the Magento cache folder located in your Magento installation directory at var/cache. Delete this “Cache” folder.
Now, you are ready to go. Use the new domain name to run your Magento.
